Hi folks,
I'm attempting to get a Yaesu FT-847 working with DX Base, and and
afternoon of tinkering left things in the same un-functioning state.
The radio and computer are connected by a null-modem cable as recommended
by Yaesu. When using my contest software, N1MM logger, it functions
perfectly - communication happens seamlessly, and I'm able to control the
radio every time. The CAT light on the radio also illuminates the minute
N1MM opens and extinguishes when it's closed.
When I bring up DX Base, I go into Tools, Options and enable the HF
Interface. Since there's no specific setting for the FT-847, I just went
ahead and tried every radio model listed. No-go. I verified that the radio
is set for 4800 baud, No parity, 8 bits 2 stop bits, and matched those
settings in DX Base. I even went so far as to set the port itself (com 2)
to these parameters. No Go. Even tried checking the DTR high box, to no avail.
I'm afraid I'm rather stumped. Can any of the assembled multitude point me
in a direction that might get DX Base and this 847 to talk to each other?
Thanks in advance.
