Two words: Buy it.
Yes, it uses the DCU-1 protocol. I'm using it on a Hy-Gain T2X and love
it. I bought the pre-wired version because, with two toddlers, a working
wife and my own job, kit-building, even something as easy as this, is not
an option. Expect to spend about a hour installing it. Mine worked fine out
of the box. The only problem I had was that the 9 pin serial connector
wiring was a mirror image of what it should have been. I fixed that and
now the computer control with DXBase works like a charm, too. I have to
admit that it's way cool to enter a call into DXBase, press the appropriate
"button" and have the rotator automagically go to the proper heading.
