Maybe that's the secret. I have not had a reason yet to use
"Find/Replace" but I think I've got one now, thanks.

I don't know about all that but I do know if you will load the ADIF file
into Wordpad and do a "Find/Replace" and change all the
<ARRL_SECTION:2>
and make them <STATE:2> as below, then it should import fine.
