Hamscope has moved to: http://www.qsl.net/hamscope/
It (as of version 1.5) had a few bugs working with Dxbase.
1) It would lock up if one tried to use the rig control
functions (did not cooperate with Dxbase's rig control)
2) It had a problem sharing the PTT and CW keying lines
3) The Yaesu rig control insisted on using USB for PSK
and RTTY rather than Yaesu's standard RTTY (LSB FSK)
or PKT (LSB AFSK). Don't even think about trying to
get the rig control module to support the "user" mode
(in the FT-1000MP and FT-1000MP MK-V).
Still, if one is looking for a good "wrapper" that handles
RTTY (MMTTY), PSK (WinPSK), MFSK16 (Stream), and CW
Hamscope does a very good job with DXbase. Just let Dxbase
handle the rig (reading frequency, etc.), assign Hamscope
a separate com port for PTT, FSK and CW (don't use the
same port for Dxbase CW and Hamscope as tempting as that
might be) and you're set. Hamscope can even be configured
to start Dxbase when you start Hamscope.
