[Dx4win] "This file requires a later version (p)"

All,

I installed a third monitor today, specifically so I would have space to
keep DX4Win open while running SmartSDR, DAX, WJST-X, etc.

After the addition of the monitor, I had trouble dragging the DX4Win windows
over there and managed to make them all disappear.

I downloaded and reinstalled 9.03 over the old installation.

Now the main window opens and I can't open my saved *.dxl log (9.03 version)
and get the message in the subject line.

Also, The preferences window will not accept my edits or any input from the
keyboard.

Anyone have any advice?
