9.0.9.1259 is higher then 9.0.3 ,
9.0.3 is the download version and needs to be updated after new install

BTW, after updating, my DX4WIN version is 9.0.9 1259, while Paul's DX4WIN Web  page says that the current t version is 9.0.3 !???

Hi Radi,

The .INI file was/is in plain text format, as is config.txt

I believe for version 9, Paul wanted to avoid non-standard file extensions.  For example, the custom awards file is no longer named DX4WIN.AWD but instead is named custawds.dat.  In other words, text files use the .TXT extension, while non-text (i.e. binary) files use the .DAT extension.

Of course, that makes it a little more difficult to use some of the files, particularly the saved configuration, between different versions of DX4WIN.  But on the other hand, it makes it easier for the user to look at and/or modify a .TXT file because Windows will open these it using Notepad as the default editor.  Windows might open a different application for a .INI file.
