His fulllist.xml file was corrupt. This is the file that has the island names for each IOTA group. The file does not exist anymore, so if you try to update it, you will get a corrupt file. The latest version of the Updater (9.5) does not let you select this file for update (the menu choice is grayed out), but if you use an older version, you could do this. This file has not been updated for some time. When the new IOTA World website was created, they provide the island names in a different format (JSON, not XML). I do not have time to try to convert the JSON file back to XML format for DX4WIN 8.0x users. If you are an active IOTA chaser, you are much better off with DX4WIN 9.0x. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, , https://www.ad1c.us From nborghetti1 at gmail.com Mon Sep 7 00:15:48 2020 From: nborghetti1 at gmail.com (Natale Borghetti) Date: Mon, 7 Sep 2020 06:15:48 +0200 Subject: [Dx4win] Corrupt members Message-ID: With the last update "Various membership list for packet" My membership disappear, some thing get corrupted. win7pro e dx4win 9.0.9.1259 This happens to some one else ??? I am using 8.05, since 9.x did not really offer anything that was of interest to me at the time. I recently purchased a new TS890S, and love all the features it has, plus better for digital modes. I have been active on RTTY for decades, and with all the hype about the newer digital modes, decided to test the waters with FT8. It does do a good job a weak signal communications, and seems to be popular with many DX-Peditions. I read over some of the prior archives, and from what I can make out, 9.x does not support it, other than allowing some merging of logs from some FT8 apps, into DX4WIN. Since FT8 and FT4 are so popular, and growing, is there any plans to incorporate it into DX4WIN, similar to MMTTY? If so, I will place my Pre-Order now. :) If not, I guess I can do a Log Merge once a week. And no matter which log I opened in the version 8, it always showed the export filters. So it must be stored somewhere else. Oh, you mean the import/export filters. I don't know if they are compatible. But you can try: * In the DX4WIN 8.05 SAVE directory, find dx4win.iep * In the DX4WIN 9.0x SAVE directory, the file is called impexpflt.dat Save your original impexpflt.dat file. They try copying dx4win.iep from 8.05 over top of the existing impexpflt.dat file. See if that works. If it messes everything up, then restore the original impexpflt.dat file that you copied. The files are not ASCII text so they are a little hard to read. It appears that the ADIF import/export filter is different between the two versions. If you go to File | Import/Export and click on a particular filter, you can edit and/or print it. But I do not see a way to export a filter.
