First be sure that in file>preferences>Ext Data under Data Source is QRZ
Online selected. If yes be sure that in the last section "Online
callsign lookup" is enabled and in 1st row writes something like

http://xmldata.qrz.com/xml/current/?username=[USERNAME];password=[PASSWORD];agent=[PROGRAM]

If this is ok, it seems that the window is outside your screen limits.
Go to file>preferences>Screen and put a smaller number in scale factor
(the smaller nr you can write is 50 but be careful because letters will
be too small to recognise and come back). Search if the window is now in
your screen limits, pressing f3.

It seems that this is not possible. I have tried what you suggest Jim but cannot find the automatic update box to check. Which window is this on?
