Hi Bruce
Let's face it : the 2 major competitors to DX4Win are Logger32 and DXLab.
Both are free, and very well supported. I am also thankfull to all our
DX4W friends who kindly spend their time answering any questions.
They basically do everything DX4Win does, plus other things.
Yes I agree, DX4Win is intuitive, and I lilke the ease of searching
through the log with several criteria (like all the QSO on 17m in CW
with Chile for example). Other features are very nice too.
One major difference is what I mentioned in my original message : easy
and "automatic" interaction with LoTW and JTDX/WSJT.
I have been testing L32, and could easily configure it so that each QSO
is automatically uploaded to Clublog and to LoTW upon completion. No
need to do anything to achieve that.
When I make a contact in JTDX, the QSO is automatically transfered to
L32, no mouse click whatsoever
I wish DX4Win would allow the same possibilities.
But even more important, lack of communications from the developpers is
sort of unacceptable, keeping in mind the program is not free. And I am
not talking about myself on this...
So, what next ?
73 and stay away from the beast !
