I have it in the default of C:\dx4win805.
I think I found a work around, so that it opens just as I last closed it, and does each time after. I got each window sized as I wanted them, and positioned correctly. I did the save ini, and, then save and close. After this, I went to the location o. dx4win.ini in the Save Directory, right clicked it, Properties, then click the Read only. Once I did this, I right clicked this file, copy, and save under c:\dx4win805. Replace existing file, yes.
I tried opening and closing several times, and it always open as I saved it. Tried shutting the pc down a few time, and relaunching DX4IN, perfect. Since this is the dx4win.ini config file, I most likely will have to unclick the read only box when making some changes, but not sure yet.

I have tried putting a Check in the box "Leave all Windows in original position", and not checking it, and I always have to rescale the windows, especially the Log Book and Same Call windows, which always are only showing the heading when reopened.
Also make sure that DX4WIN is *not* installed under C:\Program Files.
