[Dx4win] Keying a radio with a USB to parallel port adapter

Has anyone had any luck keying a radio using an USB to printer adapter? I just purchased a new PC and of course it doesn't have a conventional serial port or printer port.  I purchased a USB to Serial adapter and installed it and that works great to my Ten Tec Omni VI with DX4WIN V8. I plugged the USB to Printer adapter in but it is not showing up on the device manager screen.  The adapter is sold under the name of UGREEN.  I would really appreciate some input on this idea or must I key the radio using a USB to serial port adapter?
