I asked Paul about this once not long ago.  The problem is that people
will forget their log was left in contest mode, and then wonder why
things are working differently when the start the program the next
time.  A prompt to discard would be good, unless you are a rush to get
(re-)started.  IMHO, if you're using DX4WIN to log a contest, you're
not running at a high enough rate that a slow restart would matter
much.
