I have a really troubling problem with DX4Win 8.05, that is presently
rendering it unusable.
A couple of months ago a found a LARGE paper log hat had never been entered
into DX4WIN. I contained about 1600 QSOs from late 1997, all of 1998, and
earl y 1999. I entered this all into DX4Win and all was OK fr awhile until a
few days ago, when something crashed and the program instructed me to make a
backup. I later discovered that 1600 QSOs. From lat'97, 1998, and early
1999 had disappeared from the log and my
QSO count had dropped from 3800 to 2200. Upon revisiting the backup, after
thrashing around and trying to re-build my log, I found that everything
seemed to be there in the backup file except for some QS)s from April 17 to
April 26. Things looked OK UNTIL I attempted to do a new LoTW upload. I
went to the DX4WIN LoTW tab, cleared the upload date in my new K4OTV.dxl
file and attempted to export it to LoTW with today's date as
20150426K4OTV.adi. The file never appeared in the SAVE directory for TQSL
to access it. I tried a couple of other file names to no avail. I then
realized my QSO count had dropped from 3801 to 2200 again and again the Qs
from late 1997, 1998 and early 1999 had disappeared from the log. The
damage appears to e done when I attempt to export to LOTW.
Any ideas?? What am I doing wrong?? How can I repair this and make DX4WIN
usable again?? I did copy the log to a thumb drive and to an adeditional
copy of DX4WIN on my laptop. I am running Windows 7 Pro on both machines.
Please help if you can. I can send a copy of the log file for you to
examine, if that would aid in diagnosing my problem! I should also add that
I down loaded my QSL records from LoTW and imported the ADIF file into
DX4Win.
Thanks for your help!
Best regards,
Charlie Cunningham, K4OTV
