[Dx4win] LOTW and DX4WIN

I also have a different view. At one time I was a beta tester for DX Base (DOS and later Windows versions) I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread and I "thought" it would be the last and only program I would ever use for logging. Then it got sold and was destroyed as viable program.  Became a beta tester for Paul and Steve for Dx4windows back in its infancy. Loved the program and still do and "hoped" it would be the ladt logging program I would ever use. Personally I think Jim AD1C is the only reason DX4windows is still going. I doubt selling the program rights to anyone would be a good thing as it would likely go the way of DX Base. I think you have to decide for yourself what you need for your logging needs and choose which one is best for. DX4windows is a fantastic program but there are more out there they are also very good.

We hams tend to be loyal to fault but it's not a free program and if you don't feel a software program is meeting your needs it's probably time to move on but this program satisfies my needs and so far is higher than my resistance to change urges. That may change in the near future if my needs change. Paul poured his sole into this program in years padt butbmay not be his highest priority anymore but having been in early with this programs beta life I know ut wasn't nfrom lack of trying :)

I feel I have to express a different view.

I have been using DX4Win since V1.6 and now I am using V8.4. There is
absolutely nothing I miss in DX4Win. It does everything I need. Most
important are the groups as I have logs from over 30 callsigns in the
same log. However, I think most users don't know how to use the groups.
It takes some manual reading...

There seems to be wishes to connect the DX cluster with one click. I
don't have problem to click three times. LoTW is also easy - a few
clicks and no problems ever. If there are no more updates to the
program, I will probably be using this version the rest of my life. Of
course your needs might be different.

A big thank to Jim AD1C who has put a lot of work into the updating of
country files. And a big thank to Paul for making the program.
