[Dx4win] DXCC QSL Download - New?

Hi Dan,
Thanks' for that but DXCC QSL file we are referring to is a recent
initiative by ARRL on LoTW and is not referred to in the application notes
on Jim's page.
At this point in time I realise having support for making use of this file
and automatically importing the award information within DX4WIN is probably
not going to happen, Paul? This would be a seriously cool addition to
DX4WIN.
While the ADIF file is readily readable it's not very user friendly for a
person to use as a source to manually enter the useful DXCC award
information back into DX4WIN. Is there someone who would be willing to
write some sort of GUI that would make reading the file and inputting the
information manually into DX4WIN easier. In my case I have nearly 2400
entries to make.

Well it would be very useful to me and I'm sure others as it would mean we
could use the submission tools within DX4WIN again as they are now useless
when submissions are initiated outside of DX4WIN it has no way of knowing
that they have happened so the data it has to work with is useless. This
new file has the potential to fix that.

There's not much to say.
ARRL added this to allow loggers to download the specific QSOs that were
used to award DXCC credits.
This will eventually become complete as us folks with old credits pass on -
I have several DXCC credits from card submissions for mixed DXCC that have
no information other than the fact that I have a QSO with that entity.. this
is clearly not very useful for matching my log.
I have looked at the ADIF file and it would be fantastic to be able to use
this file to set the DXCC award flags in DX4WIN. Since most of my DXCC
submissions have been done using LoTW I am unable to easily and accurately
educate my DX4WIN log of QSO's DXCC award status, this would be the missing
link.
That's the reason ARRL added it, to allow data in your DXCC record, when
it's available, to be queried.
It's good to be able to tell which one of the dozens of QSOs with a common
DXCC entity that ARRL used in your DXCC record.

-Rick
