Carter is too modest to note that his wife Kay is also the president of the ARRL. Hope someone can help him.

Subject: [Dx4win] Need Help

Hi All,

My name is Carter Craigie, and my call is N3AO, and I live in Blacksburg,
VA, with my wonderful wife Kay N3KN.

I need some help, and don't know to whom to turn. I hope you will be able to
help me.

Here's my problem:

I have a Yaesu FT-450 radio, and I want it to communicate with DX4WIN, and
with other programs as well. At one time all was fine, but something has
changed, and I am no longer able to make the connection to my Toshiba
Satellite E205. Under DX4WIN's Preferences, it is my Second Radio.

I don't understand COM Ports, and Kay will be the first to tell you that!
Hi!

Surprisingly, when using a SignaLink USB, I AM able to do PSK31 with Mix-W.

Hmmm.

Here is what I see under DX4WIN's Preferences (Radio):Radio: Flexradio

Address: 00

Baud Rate: 9600

Notes for Radio: Flexradio

Com Port: COM 6

Poll Rate: 500

Max Tries: 6

Check: DTR High

Check: RTS High

Transverter: 0

Band: None

Second Radio:

FT-450

Address: 00

Baud Rate: 4800

Notes for Radio: ON4AOI

Com Port: Com 5

Poll Rate: 500

Max Tries: 6

Check: DTR High

Check: RTS High

Transverter: 0

Band: None

What is happening now is that DX4WIN cannot "read" the radio.

I am completely stumped!  Do you have ANY suggestions for me, please???
