[Dx4win] An exception has occurred

An exception has occurred

Received  that notice this morning, with access violation at address 'blah-blah-blah'  in
module dx4win.exe.

I am unable to open any DX4WIN log files.

Using latest 8.05 (and also AD1C's fine updater).   Win 7 PC.

I guess (?) the basic dx4win.exe file must have somehow corrupted, would downloading and
running a new dx4win.exe file from the web site solve this?    Didn't want to go ahead
without seeking advice first.
