[Dx4win] DX4WIN and Flex 6500 not connecting

Well, it connected but when I tried to click on a spot the radio display and
receiver slices did not jump to the spot on 17m, I think the receivers where
still back on 40m....  Then DX4WIN lost connection and timed as well...
Looks like the PREVIEW software is not quite ready for clicking spots....

Well, thank you Bob,

It’s working if I bring up a second slice with VFOB as you discovered....  I
wonder if there is someway for ‘SmartSDR’ to provide a place holder number
for VFOB when it’s not open or ask DX4WIN people to change it to look for
VFOA instead of VFOB??

Sorry it took so long for me to get a chance to look at your problem but I
think I've found the answer.

DX4Win immediately looks for the frequency of VFO B (the FB command) it will
try six time, and if it doesn't get an answer, it times out).  I'm not sure
exactly why DX4Win is dependent on VFO B being there but it is.  I don't
know if this has something to do with how the radio profile (in DX4Win) is
generated, I opened up the DX4Win FlexRadio.rig file but his acronyms don't
mean anything to me so I can't decipher what is supposed to happen.

I created a second receiver on the 6000 (before starting DX4Win) and
everything ran smoothly.  I can read both receiver frequencies and set split
mode from the DX4Win Radio Frequency Control panel.  The only CAT command
that the Flex6000 is not responding to is RC (reset the RIT frequency) which
is not available currently in the radio.  CAT responds with the correct
error message and DX4Win seems to accept it.

So, I guess the fix is to always have a second receiver running, either in
the same panadapter or another one.

selected.  Still no joy; But now I get a DX4WIN error message saying the
port cannot be connected to because it already exists....    Which it does,

these were my last settings I´ve used yesterday.
I only changed the ports deliberately - other settings
were found by default.
