Hi Bill,

 

Can be done easy,

When K3+P3 is working via DX4WIN

Do the following.

 

Setup in DX4WIN a comport to control a steppIR beam but this can be used for
other hardware.

The output is standard kenwood protocol so you have to setup expert-2k for
kenwood radio

Only your TX frequency will be send out on this comport but that's enough
for the 2k

Make the following  serial cable      

Comport PC (DB9) pin 3 goes to expert-2k(DB15) pin1 

Comport PC (DB9) pin 5 goes to expert-2k(DB15) pin5

I'm having trouble getting the K3, P3, DX4Win and 2K-FA all talking to each
other.

I have the K3 RS232 line to the P3 and then it's output to the PC to use
DX4Win with the K3.  I have the USB cable from the 2K-FA connected to the
computer, but don't know where to connect the CAT line from the 2K-FA to the
K3.  I tried a DB9 "Y" a the RS232 port of the K3 and when that didn't work,
tried the "Y" at the RS232 PC connection on the P3.  That didn't work,
either.

Have you come across anyone who has made this work?
