I am happy to announce the first public (non-test) release of the
DX4WIN Data Updater:
http://dx4win.ad1c.us/update/
This program is designed to update your DX4WIN data files (but not the
program itself). It is a *huge* leap forward in functionality and
flexibility. Please read the entire web page above, as there have
been many changes. Note that the program takes a number of options.
You can download pre-configured option files for DX4WIN versions 6
(and earlier), 7 and 8. You'll find this on the web page.
After you start using the new program, you can uninstall the WGET and
UNZIP programs that were required by the .BAT file (unless you need
them for something else).
This program was written and debugged in about four days, with testing
help from a dozen dedicated volunteers. I know there may be problems
initially, and I will try to deal with them as quickly as possible.
Please let me know if you run into something that is wrong, isn't
clear, or doesn't work as you expect. I also welcome comments on the
documentation (web page).
Thanks to the encouragement of DX4WIN users for all the suggestions
that went into making this program. As you can see from the "To Do"
section, there are still a couple of things to work on; they will be
released after I catch my breath!
A special thanks to the crew who helped with the testing. They
identified many problems which I did not find myself, and had useful
suggestions for improving the program.

p.s. I am having some web site issues, so the new web page isn't fully
integrated into the menus yet. I'll fix that later today. However
the URL given above is fully functional.
