I am not familiar with Microham. Different brands of USB adaptors will give
different results. FWIW, I have a Belkin model that has worked in all
applications. A search of the archives might turn up something, I seem to recall
this issue having been around before.

Subject: [Dx4win] KENWOOD TS570S
Hi,
Can anyone on the reflector please help?
I have two Kenwood rigs a TS950SDX and a TS570S (primarily used on 6m). The
TS950SDX will connect and stay connected to most logging programs (DX4Win,
Wintest, MixW, SD etc) via a Microham usb adaptor. However despite my best
endeavours The TS570S won't stay connected to DX4Win. It will to the other
programs. I always thought that all Kenwood radios used the same settings as
does the K3 but that it obviously not the case. I have been trying with the
TS570 settings since I upgraded to ver.8 and I have just updated DX4Win to
ver. 8.05 and I have tried the TS480 settings. In the past I have tried all
the different rig settings in FILE/PREFERENCES/RADIO always with the same
result. The rig will connect and both leds on the MicroHam DB9-K usb
interface flash showing that it is talking to the PC. But after a few
minutes the program indicates that it has lost communication with the rig
and everything freezes for a couple of minutes.
This is quite frustrating especially now when I am chasing the new PJs on
6m.
73 and many thanks
