I don't remember seeing a question about this. From my experience,
don't make this a network or slow USB flash drive. DX4WIN will be
unusable during the time it's writing the secondary backup (the same
would be true for the primary backup).
I feel I am better off using a 3rd-party tool that backs up in the
background. I chose SyncBackSE, but I'm not 100% satisfied with my
choice (it's set to backup on any file change):
1. When I'm running the update.bat script, I've seen files get
corrupted as SyncBackSE tries to synchronize files md-way through the
download).
2. I have had cases where the backup didn't occur as expected, or the
program didn't start on a reboot. This causes my upstairs and
downstairs computers to get out of sync.
Another tool was mentioned on the reflector a few months back, but I
don't recall the name.
Also go to http://dx4win.ad1c.us/ and find the Application Note about
DX4WIN Data Protection Strategies. It was written before secondary
backup was added to DX4WIN, and does not mention SyncBackSE or the
other program (it seems everyone has a different favorite).
