[Dx4win] Logbook sort order

Loren,

I do what Jim suggested to look at contest logs, etc. I assign each new
contest a new GROUP number when I import the contest ADIF file to DX4WIN.
Then I can use the filter to show only the log report of just that contest,
portable operation, etc.
But I am not exactly sure what you wish to accomplish. Let's say you are
running DX4WIN with the main logging window open. You can also open the SAME
CALL window. Then when you type a call into the main logging window any
former contacts with that call will appear. That will show you the
date/time/band/mode/QSL sent-rec'd with date/and the GROUP name (can tell
you if it was a contest QSO, etc). Then you can click on any of the QSO's in
the SAME CALL window and go to that QSO for more details. I normally run
DX4WIN with the SAME CALL, COUNTRY, IOTA, WORLD MAP, SUN RISE/SET, and
MASTER CALLS windows all open. You can click on and resize and move these
extra windows to anyplace on your desk top that you like. After I log a DX
QSO I also open CALLSIGN MGR LOOKUP using F3. The CALLSIGN MGR LOOKUP window
is not included in the WINDOWS drop down menu. When you close DX4WIN then
open it later all the Windows you previously had open will open again at the
same positions as before except for the CALLSIGN MGR LOOKUP window. I would
prefer that it would be remembered also and reopen with all the rest. I
don't know why it is set up this way but I don't consider it a big thing,
just a minor nuisance.

and it goes instantly to the bottom of the log, then the guy comes back one
more time and I forgot his name (or call) and have to scroll to the bottom
of the log.

The QSO window can be sorted, but none of the "Windows" can be sorted.
Right-click on the Logbook window and save to a .CSV file, then you
can open it in Excel and look at it any way you want.
