Hi, Steve.
Every radio supported by DX4WIN is defined by a .rig file. When you
select a radio in File->Preferences->Radio, you are actually telling
DX4WIN what .rig file to use. The .rig files are kept in the
"Radios" folder in your DX4WIN install directory. For example, my
.rig files are kept in C:/DX4W805/Radios.
In my Radios folder I see a .rig file for the FT-2000 (file name
"Yaesu FT2000.rig"). You didn't say what version of DX4WIN you are
using, but if it is an older version it is possible it didn't come
originally with a .rig file for the FT-2000.
If you are unable to find an entry for the FT-2000 when you go to
File->Preferences->Radio and if Jim has a .rig file available for it,
I would download that .rig file and move it into your DX4WIN Radios
folder. You should then be able to select it in File->Preferences->Radio.
If you are not running the latest version of DX4WIN (v8.05) I suggest
that upgrading should be your first step as it will then come with
all the latest .rig files.
Let us know if these ideas don't help getting you online with your FT-2000.
