Destroyed configuration file. Delete it and restore your settings from the .ini file I hope you created at some point.
Regarding skins... don't use them, they are buggy.
Regarding Microsoft restarting your computer. If you leave DX4Win running continuously you MUST configure Microsoft Updates to notify only, not do the install automatically. That way you can shut down DX4Win before running the update.
It's not a good idea to leave DX4Win running if you don't use a UPS.
