I don't understand what you say.  If you want to manually enter a
frequency in that field, go to the end, then backspace until all the
characters disappear.  It must be in MHz (F.ffff).

Maybe you're having radio control problems?  What kind of radio do you
have interfaced to DX4WIN?  Are you using the correct radio type in
your preferences, with the correct driver and baud rate?
