ROS, developed by José Albert Nieto Ros, is a new digital mode. Using
spread spectrum and 1 or 16 Baud signalling rates it is designed to cope
with disturbances, low level signals, meteor scatter and moon bounce and
claims that receiving signals down to -35 dB (!) with 1 Bd signalling rate
and -30 dB (!) with 16 Bd are possible.
You can tell a ROS spot because they usually advertise the fact in the
comments field and that in it self is fine.
The part that gets me is that even though set frequencies have been
suggested, kind of like channels the users of the mode seem hell bent on
being very prolific spotters and even auto beacons just in case the rest of
the world is missing their existence.
If your into QRP and weak signal work you may find this new mode exciting.
