Hello All,
Now that I have DX4WIN V8.02 with its expanded list of COM ports I am trying to interface it with my
software defined radio. This radio is openHPSDR hardware with PowerSDR software, the same software
used with the FlexRadio products, like the Flex-5000. I am using Phil Covington's virtual COM port
driver. DX4WIN sees the radio on COM25. The radio sees DX4WIN on COM24.
DX4WIN <=> COM25 <=> Virtual COM Port software <=> COM24 <=> PowerSDR <=> SDR
(CAT,
PTT,
Key)
Here's what works: The CAT control works fine using the Kenwood TS-2000 protocol. DX4WIN reads the
radio parameters correctly and can change them manually or when I click on a spot. The keyline and
PTT line work as expected when the state of these lines are changed via the DTR and RTS checkboxes
in the setup screen, Radio tab. This was done only to see if these lines worked and they do.
What doesn't work: The CW keyboard will not activate the transmitter. I hear the local sidetone from
DX4WIN but it does not activate PTT nor does the keyline have any effect.
I have the CW setup screen set to Device Type = DX4WIN, Radio 1/2 Signal = None, Reverse = NOT
checked, Interface = COM25 (the same as the CAT port), DTR=PTT, RTS=CW Keying, External Keyer = COM1
(there is no "none" setting).
When I substitute MixW for DX4WIN and send CW it works fine.
I have reviewed the forum, internet, and help file information I can find with no success. Has the
CW keyboard been tested with these new high number COM ports? Am I missing something in the setup?
