Hi Mel,
I assume you're referring to the existing (award) spot filtering.
Paul has added a third tab of Packet configuration. This is for
configuring active bands and modes for incoming DX spots. You can use
this in addition to, or instead of, any filters that you have defined
on your cluster node.
Here is how I use it: My DX cluster node sends me spots for all bands
160-6m. I currently do not have the ability to operate on 160m or
80m, so I have those bands disabled in my packet preferences. What
this does is turn any incoming spots LIGHT GRAY for those bands (just
like an already-worked station). This allows me to keep those bands
active for DXCC, WAZ, etc. purposes, but spots on those bands will no
longer be highlighted (called out as needed), but I can still see
them. I could disable them on my local cluster node, but then I'd be
"in the dark" if something really rare is active on those bands.
