Hi John,

I don't know that F2 ever did this.

*  If the QSL date was NOT set, the F2 may set Label=Y, but that's a
future operation so no date is filled in.

*  If the QSL dates was set, presumably because you already sent a
QSL, then the F2 key can optionally change the QSL date to today's
date (i.e. the date you received the QSL, as opposed to the date you
SENT the QSL).

In other words, F2 can mark a QSL to be sent in the future, but it
can't mark that you are sending a QSL *right now*.  I believe that's
the way it always has been.

If I receive an unsolicited QSL that I want to reply to right away, I
use up-arrow in the date field to set today's date, and change the QSL
Method to direct/manager, then use the F2 key to confirm it.
