Subject: Homecoming Scotland special prefixes for Amateurs in Scotland
2009 is the year of “Homecoming” in Scotland . “Homecoming” is a year
long celebration aimed at attracting the Scottish Diaspora as well as
those interested in Scottish traditions to Scotland. Numerous events
have been and will be held throughout Scotland this year.
We thought that Amateur Radio in Scotland should play a part and are
pleased to announce that Ofcom have agreed to special prefixes to be
used by Radio Amateurs in Scotland until 30th November 2009.
The prefixes will be GA, MA and 2A . The A replacing the M in your
prefix (A to represent Alba the Gaelic name for Scotland).
If you wish to use this prefix you must apply online at
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radiocomms/variation.
The special prefixes will only be issued to Amateurs whose main
residence is in Scotland..
