[Dx4win] K3 via USB?

There are USB to Serial 'cables' now. Electronics in the connectors and USB powered.  I use one to connect from my PC to the PROII. Works like a champ... Here is one (of hundreds) for sale on eBay for under $5.00.

My father just got a K3 that he'd like to hook up as a second radio.
Unfortunately, his PC has no serial ports, just USB.  I have never
played with a K3 myself.  What's the most straightforward way to get
frequency control going?
