Thank you for the explanation, which indeed is clear, and confirms that 
mode information may influence posting color. But here is an example of  
the specific problem, which may not fit the criteria you have listed. 
These spots just came in.

Note: "Alert unconfirmed country" is unchecked. TO5FJ is in the log on 
40 SSB.

The first and third QSOs are labeled 4-Award Mode.Unconfirmed--which is 
the actual case---and the second QSO is "9-No Interest", which is not 
the case, because it is unconfirmed.  The second QSO indicates by the 
QSX frequency--both in the QSX and Remarks columns--that the posting is 
SSB, which was the QSO mode, of course, so why was it gray?
