It's an ICOM thing, Barry.  There is no bit in the ICOM protocol that tells the
software (DX4WIN) that the radio is in split.  You'll have to enter the QSX
frequency manually.

Some software has solved this problem by using a "soft" bit internally.  As
long as ONLY the software sets or clears the radio split function, it can keep
track of whether to spot a QSX frequency or not.  But if you touch the split
button on the front of the radio, then it will be out-of-sync with the
software.
