I apologise if this has come up on the reflector previously but I did look and couldn't find anything.
My problem is that the Band Decoder via LPT1 port will not select the band on my Quadra amplifier. I have found that it WILL work if I run another logging program first (eg Win-Test) that also has a band decoder through the LPT1 port. I had the same problem on versions 6 and 7 of DX4Win. The radio QSY's OK at all times through a com port.
I use Windows XP Pro with DLPortIO to control the 25w LPT1 port from DX4Win. In the Preferences/Control tab I have Top Ten Band decoder selected on the LPT1 port, active bands set at 160-6m (same with 160-10m).
After boot-up, I run DX4WIN and the band decoder does not work. I then run Win-Test at the same time as the DX4WIN session, select an HF contest log and the Quadra will QSY to the band depicted in the log. I then exit Win-Test and the band-decoder works fine in DX4WIN after that.
Alternatively, I can run Win-Test before running DX4WIN and when DX4WIN comes up, the band decoder works fine.
Its almost as if the DLPortIO software is not initialising OK in DX4WIN. Has any one got any ideas please?
Thanks, John. G4IRN.
