[Dx4win] CW keyboard question

I'm trying to set up the CW keyboard (I'm using version 7.02.15) for
some casual CW contesting and am having trouble getting out of "Add
real-time" mode. I have opened the CW keyboard and in addition I would
like to be able to send the keyboard buffers while in the QSO window.
To be able to send these buffers while in the QSO window WIN has
provided a 'Special Keys CW/RTTY' function that is accessed under the
QSO pulldown and is available in the "Add real-time" mode. All of this
works as described except for the ability to exit real time mode. On
both of my PC's I cannot exit real time mode via the Esc key if the
'Special Keys' function is in effect. Referring to the help text for
the Special Keys it says "Pressing the Esc key with no characters in the
CW keyboard will stop adding QSO's". I take that to mean that the Esc
key will exit real-time mode. But it does not exit real time mode
forcing me to exit the Special Keys function first which is a bit of a
hassle.

Is there a way to exit real-time mode without first exiting Special
Keys? What am I missing?
