[Dx4win] Re: Vista

Whether or not the logging program works with Vista, none of the commercial
USB interface boxes, MicroHam, RigBlaster, RigExpert, etc., to my knowledge
will function under Vista. MicroHam says that they may have something out by
Thanksgiving 2007. Apparently, there are non-trivial differences in the way
Vista handles USB. However, you can easily set up a dual-boot computer with
XP and Vista. I have Vista Ultimate 64-bit and Windows XP SP2 (32-bit)
running on this machine.

Hi Marc and others,

The NEW USB Winkey you gave me is working perfect under DX4WIN no
hesitations or wait times like I saw at your place.
For the records
The previous release of WINKEY via serial connection is working also
perfect, Mine is connected via a USB2SERIAL device for several Months now
(BTW the USB2SER driver is for both the same).
Connection of both keyers is directly done on my mainboard USB connection I
have 8 onboard.

The USB2LPT I4m testing now is not doing what it supposed to do.
It works with DX4WIN but booting with the device plugged in is not Working
or maybe after 4 hours hi.
Did test this device under XP PRO - XP HOME & XP media center on 3 different
Computers

That exact what I see also here with my winkeyer USB unit. When polling my
radio
dx4win is acting slow and the cw is also broken.I give one USB keyer to a
Guy ON4AOI
to see how its work with his system.

Is the DX4WIN country database file maintained in any standard database
program?

Dear Jose,
Mni tnx for your advice. It worked, now, by changing menu KEYER into Bug
Key! I am able to use DX4WIN to run CW Keying via ELEC-KEY jack in front of
transceiver.

But, I wanna run it via CW Key in the rear of transceiver so that, I still
have one spare jack (in front) for manual keying.

Anyway, mni tnx es 73 de Jo, YC0LOW

Hi Jose, CT1AOZ,
I haven't found yet why my interface and cable from LPT port in my computer
(for CW Key) didn't work with my IC-746 Pro (connected via rear panel CW
jack) whereas the same cable/circuit is working flawlessly with my other
transceiver (FT-1000MP).

Will keep trying. Tnx for ur advise. 73 de Jo, YC0LOW

No. It's a set of text files that runs through a program Paul gave
me to create the .CTY file.

If there's some specific question, let me know.
