[Dx4win] PROBLEMS with STATES and COUNTIES in dx4win log

Hi All,

I fixed my log with my daily backups but from a Date before
I added FJ ( I know I added FJ correct without any error ).

BUT WHEN THE LOG WAS NOT CORRECT (WAS and COUNTY problem)
I NOTICED THE FOLLOWING ERROR.
 
Looking to my total I saw that there were 339 DXCC ??? 
and it should have been 338.

My guess is that or I was to quick and dxcc ¨ZZZ not completed etc¨
got in by mistake or something else caused this behavior.

Deleting ZZZ doesn´t correct the missing states and counties.

So for All those that are interested or having the problems like some
Of us do pse check if your current DXCC = 338 when FJ is added.
If it is higher you have the ZZZ country and should delete it.

I will call Paul later and ask him about it.

Only one thing left to say is -- BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP -- Daily
Then you can correct problems without to much work.
There are free remote backup sites, I use Mozy Remote Backup
Only for DX4WIN (free space is upto 2Gb) and Norton Ghost is scheduled
3 times a day in different directories.

Hi All

I was about to reply to Hamad, and now see the note from Guy.

1)  From Hamad's first problem, you should be able to export from your
backup log IN DX4WIN format; and all county data is preserved.  You should
then be able to import it into your main log IN DX4WIN format; and set
imported date to replace log data; and hopefully all is ok.    I have done
this on my PC, and it works ok.

2) I also had a few problems creating FJ since the program is not intuitive
in this regard. However, I never saw this corrupted country stuff happening.
I have set the new FJ on 2 PC's; both are working fine. ........

3) ....Or I thought they were !  FJ is terminated correctly in FS in the
country file.   FJ is created OK in the Country file.  However; I tried a
fictitious call of FJ/OH2BH and also FJ5KH.  Both show up as France !!!   If
I manually change them to FJ in the log, then that call is mapped to FJ
correctly in the country file.   Looks to me that an exception needs to be
created also for France , to make all FJ's appear correctly ???

I run V7.03.016  under Windows XP on both PC's.

I was following this problem from Prague (OK) When ON4ATW started this
thread, The only thing I couldn´t do was replying on the mails.

Back home know I can tell that I also have the same problem and I am
figuring out when it started, At the moment I have to redo 2 steps because
I am not 100% sure what has caused it >>>> LOTW import or the ADD of FJ
country.
My guess is the ADD of FJ that is causing the problem, like Theo mentioned
After the upgrade K resulted in "NETHERLANDS NEW GUINEA"
instead of UNITED STATES. Restarting DX4WIN and all was OK except the
missing States and Counties.

SO FOR ALL USERS KEEP A GOOD BACKUP SAFELY SOMEWHERE FROM BEFORE THE LAST
CHANGES (ADD OF FJ, LOTW)

In the meantime I start digging again to find out what caused this problem.

Hi,

   Is there a way to import State and county info from another dx4win
file? i don't know why for some reason i lost most of my county and
states info from my current log, so i want to import this data from my
back up copy.
