[Dx4win] Using Com Ports greater than Com 8

If you have XP (and presumably other versions of Windows), you can go
into the device manager or control panel and access your COM port
menus. In there you can rename your COM port to whatever number you
choose. I am told that XP allows COM ports up to 255.
