I ran a piece of software about a year ago called "Serial Splitter":

  http://www.eltima.com/products/serialsplitter/

This was so I could run Writelog without shutting off the DX4WIN frequency
control. At the time, I had a real (hardware) serial port communicating with
the radio. It seemed to work well. I stopped using it because I got a
microHAM interface and it didn't make sense to me to put a virtual COM port on
top of a virtual COM port.

I am hoping that the microHAM folks will some day implement multiple virtual
COM ports communicating with the same device, but there are issues with this
and I don't think it's very high on their priority list.
