There's nothing wrong with making a profit, and I didn't
say there was. When something is "sold" it is assumed
that the buyer will receive something of "value" and an e.QSL
doesn't have "value". There's no "gold standard" to back it
up or underwrite it. It has no "value" outside the eQSL
business environment.
I don't understand why anyone would pay to download,
and ... I assume then print ... a qsl that is of no use. You can,
of course ... for a fee ... claim (read "buy") various "awards" from
the e.QSL company. e.QSL's are like the money in a Monoply
game ... "pretend" QSL's.
At least for my $2.00 bill and an s.a.s.e I (usually) receive a
legitimate,
recognized QSL that I can "take to the bank". A stack of e.QSL
"qsl's" is perhaps akin to counterfit money. Stuff your mattress with
it,
but don't expect to buy anything with it.
Anyone want a rare DX QSL? I'll send you anything you want via
e.QSL! They'll accept it and pass it on to you ... for a fee. Just
don't
expect it to be recognized anywhere else.
I have about 13K QSO's ready to dump into LoTW. It's taken me
several years to enter 54 years of logbooks into my DX4WIN.
There's no way I'm going to give them to e.QSL to sell to others.
BTW, 10-10's another BIG money maker! I only wish I'd thought
of it! (:-))
