[Dx4win] Where is the Tech Support?

John N4DSP and others,

I wasn't in until now and will give some comments where I can
Are you using 7.00 - 7.01 or 7.02 ?

The problem of changing band & mode has been reported by me and
Probably others to Paul last year after the release in Dayton.

First 7.xx release.
Not only on screen it was changing but also the band data out on LPT port
was changing the antennas and even the radio changed if the polling was very
slow when spots arrived.

>From 7.02.xx this problem is solved because PAUL changed the software.
(rewrote)

I can't explain better then Marc ON4MA did how DX4WIN works

Real time logging
==================
= From the moment you hit f9 with radio on.
When a spot is coming in your inputscreen changes a few seconds to the spot
mode and band >>>>>>> DX4WIN is Checking your log to see if you need it or
not.

Nothing happens with the radio. (This was the case before 7.02)

The Time it takes depends on your LOG size, computer and the correct
communication settings between the radio and PC (pollingrate-baudrate-etc)

After this (in my case to short to see the problem on screen)
your radio's real freq and mode is displayed again.

BUT you can solve it like this.
================================
When you type 1 letter or number in the callsign field

ALL THE ABOVE SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING.

The spots getting in now can't change the radio's real freq and mode in the
log window BECAUSE you are in real time logging.

>From the moment you log a station (ENTER) it all start over until you type
something in.

Tested this with IC-7800, FT1000mp, FT1000MP_MKV, FT897d

First step I should take is to check/change the
communication settings of the ORION II. like Baudrate - etc (better a lower
value that works OK then the max settings that need retries)

Is the radio connected via USB>SERIAL or real serial port,
change also the settings of this port

From what I am hearing he is like saying the RADIOS DISPLAY is
never set chen the packet spot is clicked on.........
BUT that DX4WIN IS READING the RADIOS FREQ because that
freq is set back read into the logging window....

It is like there is only ONE WAY communcation.. only FROM the radio.
