Jim, that is bad news you having all this trouble.
It has been working here for years through several upgrades of DX4WIN,
computers & OS's too.
The only thing I can suggest, and I am guessing here. I note that in
your first message you were pointing to "E:\QRZ Ham Radio" so I take it
that you have called the DIR on E:\ where you put the data "QRZ Ham
Radio". Is this the same name as the DIR the data was in on the CD Rom?
I have an older QRZ CD Rom and the DIR the data was in is called
"callbk" and I have called the DIR where I put it on my HD "callbk". If
yours doesn't match perhaps this is the problem.

Thanks for the help folks.
Data Directory should have been set to E:\ (only) which is the
location of the QRZ data on my hard drive.
That worked, *** but only for a little while ***
Then I got the "QRZ Error: Database not found" messages again.
I then found that if I put the QRZ! CDROM back into my computer (into
EITHER my CD or DVD drive, it didn't matter), then the lookups worked
again, but it was always going to the CD to find them!
I tried updating (Microsoft Update) Microsoft Net Framework 1.0 SP3,
and then Net Framework 1.1, but that had no effect.
I don't know why it worked for a little while from the hard drive,
then stopped working.
This is on Windows XP Professional with all the service packs, etc.
installed.
THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENS using the GOlist GOWIN software, so I don't
think it's specific to DX4WIN.
