Yes Jim there are many ways to skin a cat.

How many times have we drafted a letter, proof read it 10 times then
when you print it out you see a dumb mistake?

I still like the idea of having an unmodified log hidden away as
importing into a new temporary log is not quite the same as with that
you don't see how your import will react with the groups and previous
QSO's in your genuine log.

The other thing for people to be aware of is that DX4WIN will
automatically open the last opened log when started so be aware if
opening different and new logs that when you go back to making QSO's you
are working on the correct log.

No, thinking about it Jim I think my way is simpler and less
problematic, but every one to there own.

It's even easier than that!  File -> New and create a new, temporary
log.  When you are satisifed with the import results, do it to your main
log.
