[Dx4win] feature need

"There is truly humor in ham radio" It is quite evident that
I can't follow directions: "Three "Returns" & connected"
I booted my computer & my opening screen came up.
Down in the lower left hand corner is my DX4WIN icon.
I hit Return(enter key), nothing happens
I type "RETURN", nothing happens
I single click on the DX4WIN icon, nothing happens
I hit enter & DX4WIN opens.
Normally I put my cursor on the DX4WIN icon,
double click and DX4WIN opens.
AHA, part 1 success
I then hit return(enter key), nothing happens
I then type "return", nothing happens
So, I hit the return(enter key) and it says "Do you want to
save these changes? - yes or no - I hit no". Hummmmmm
Let's try the old way. - I expand my RTTY window and low and behold, I get a
blank screen.
I hit the return(enter key) & a screen says "Telnet failed, no connection
active - OK?
I click on "OK" and I'm back to the blank screen.
I try to type "return" but as soon as I type the "R", that
same screen pops up that says "Telnet failed - etc"
I click on "OK" & I'm back to the blank screen.
Again, let's try it the old way - right click on the blank
screen & pick "Internet connection" from the list of
choices and single click on it.
Again, AHA! There is the list of stations for me to
choose to whom I would like to connect. - This is great!
(my favorite had been on top for 5 years.)
I hit return(enter key) and another screen comes up
that says "connected to the station selected"
"Please enter your call" - I hit return(enter key) &
"Invalid call" appears - connection closed.
Whoops, I must have to type "RETURN". I do so
& nothing happens until I hit the (enter key) and again,
I get "Invalid call" - connection closed.
What an exercise...
I try it again, but type in my call sign, then hit return and
guess what?
I'm connected. I then shrink the screen & I'm ready to
go DXing.
JIM, where did I go wrong?
I have often thought how confusing it would be if someone wanted to operate
my station, & I tried to explain "How to open DX4WIN & connect to an
internet node". I just sit here and chuckle to myself.
Now, if someone would tell me how to set up a macro so that hitting one key
would enter "K3WC"....(with no "RETURN")
No flames please, this was just for fun. Thanks for all the help Jim.
73, Dusty
