Hi Rob,
We got a delayed start on our trip to Colorado
springs - saw your note and thought I may be able
to help. First, have you used MMTTY by
itself? If so, there is a file called MMTTY.ini
that you will find in the MMTTY folder. Copy
that to the main DX4WIN folder. Save the MMTTY
engine (MMTTY.exe) in the DX4WIN folder. Then,
when you want to use MMTTY, go to the DX4WIN
"windows" screen, and select MMTTY - it's the
second option from the bottom of that
screen. That will start the MMTTY program, as
well as the MMTTY RTTY Control Panel screen.
If you have used MMTTY before by itself, the
MMTTY.ini file will automatically configure the
MMTTY engine to run as you have it set to do by
itself. Makes it far easier. If not, then you
will have to configure the program using the
Control Panel screen for your
equipment. Unfortunately, there are quite a few
options that I can't help you with because it is peculiar to your equipment.
To set up the correct path for your hamcall
information, go to File then Preferences, then
Ext Data. There you will enter the path for your
files. The entry is made in the first option at
the top of the screen, called Data
Source. Typically, it is only for a CDROM, but I
believe that you may be able to actually have the
files on your PC. Unfortunately, I don't know
any more than that. Hopefully, someone can help you out with that part.
If you have a computer controlled rotator, then
you need to set up the correct information in the
"Control" window in the DX4WIN preferences
window. You will find the Rotator Control window
toward the bottom of the screen. There is an
option for Orion M2 rotors, which is in a drop
down window. Then you need to specify the proper
Communications Serial port for your rotator
controller. There is an option for "handshake",
but I don't know the correct information, if any,
for the Orion. Perhaps someone out there can give you a hand with that.
We're off to Colorado Springs and will be back next week!
Cheers and good luck!
Joe
