[Dx4win] Missing DXCC Confirms with 604

Alan, I am really surprised. I have over 1600 band countries confirmed and
usually only show one or two that change. I trace those down and usually
always find that it was due to the country being improperly entered in the
first place. Jim offers a procedure on his web site to allow you to find
out exactly what the problem is when one exists. If you have very old
contacts (up to 50 or so years) in your log, there are many opportunities
for error since prefixes were made up by operators, and the FCC has
re-assigned prefixes for US territories, and similar events. Each and every
one that I have found, Jim has carefully added these exceptions to the new
database. I seriously doubt that ANY program data base is as good, so I
don't know what program you would move to that would be as accurate. This
data base is provided with DX4WIN but it is maintained at n/c by Jim.
Let Jim know if you have found a problem that would benefit other users.

This is a really irritating "feature" of DX4WIN. It would be MUCH more
sensible if the program saved the DXCC country for each QSO in the log
file itself, and just used the reference file to give you a suggestion
as to where a new QSO fits, something like the "super check partial"
files, or even the country reference files, in a contest logging
program. Having to review your Q's to see if the country reference has
gotten screwed up every time you upgrade the program is an incredible
pain in the butt. This is the biggest single complaint I have about
DX4Win, and if I ever decide to move to a different program, it will be
for this reason.
