Hi Dani!

I had the same problem, lots of devices wanted serial ports and only one on
my main computer! I brought a VSCOM 4 x serial port adaptor that plugs into
a spare USB port. Immediately the computer (under XP) installed it and I now
have 5 serial ports. The additional 4 serial ports are used for the radios
(Icom IC746 ProII & Icom IC9100), telenet and morse decoder. It was simple
Plug and Play!

XP named these 4 extra ports as COM Ports 3, 4 5 & 6. I have noticed that
some hardware/software only accepts COM ports 1 through 4. so it was a
matter of juggling around hardware/software that would accept the correct
port numbers.

This VSCOM adaptor is very good, I couldn’t source it in UK but found a
friendly supplier in the United States who shipped it over to me. Now they
have European distributor, try this link:

Good luck!!!

Kind Regards
