It sounds like you whole log is somewhere. That's good.

Just copy the *.~XL file to <yourlog>.DXL, use THAT file name then DX4WIN 
will work with it properly.

I have never heard of an option to delete a log.  Maybe if you have opened 
a NEW log, and have never saved it before, DX4WIN will ask you about 
deleting it.
