Paul,

Like others here, I also use Syncback. This free program will backup to a 
pen drive, a CD rom, a network drive, or an FTP site. As part of the backup, 
you can configure Syncback to compress data into a ZIP file, making the 
external file transfer smaller/faster; and can also encrypt the file, making 
your data protected while on that internet site.
